WES REEVE FLOWERS IN MY HAIR

Wes Reeve has dropped the latest entry into her song-a-week project, ‘Flowers In My Hair’. The LA-based singer-songwriter is taking on an impressive task, dropping a brand new track every single week for a year, while promoting her fantastic debut album Come To The Table. This tune is incredibly delicate, allowing her vulnerable lead vocal to sit atop a piano accompaniment during the verses, before bouncing through catchy melodies during the semi-orchestral chorus. She explains that the track “is about loving someone but realizing that in this life you can’t be together. So you dream. It ties together winter, the death of a dream, and spring, the hopefulness of new life. I was inspired by old tavern songs, although it’s hard to tell”. As with this one, a lot of her tunes draw from nostalgia and fairytale, so if that’s your thing, then be on the lookout for a new release every week. - Dan Peeke
